I am a PhD student looking at how underserved communities in New England value renewable energy using a deliberative valuation approach and how the outputs from this work can be used in policy making. I am also interested in systems dynamics modeling and my previous research has focused on valuing coastal ecosystem services from an ecological perspective.

I’m Anna, a first-year master’s student at UMass Boston, and I’m currently studying consumer attitudes towards cultivated meat through social media, and the sustainability of animal agriculture. My interests include food sustainability, environmental ethics, environmental health, and conservation. Previously, I’ve researched pollution and other built environment factors on the mental health of marginalized groups, as well as the effects of habitat fragmentation on animal behavior.
Joshua Duddy
I am Josh, currently undertaking my first year as a master’s student at UMass Boston. Having lived much of my life in New Zealand, I bring a unique perspective on indigenous relations, shaped by my experience in a bi-cultural country with deep-rooted partnerships and understandings between Māori (indigenous) and Pakeha (non-indigenous) communities. I have a strong interest in Environmental Ethics and its role within current and future sustainability policy frameworks, with my thesis question still in development.
