As you can see on the photo above, landing in Glasgow was a beautiful experience; the sun was out and we could all feel the welcoming vibe before touching ground. Our journey to the hotel was an eye-opener on how beautiful the architecture is in Glasgow. The old castle-like buildings, beautiful graffiti and cars with the steering wheel on the opposite side all stood out as very new and interesting to us.

IMG_1212As soon as we arrived at Glasgow and dropped off our bags, we headed down to Nando’s restaurant and had the most amazing wings I have ever tasted! However due to the long flight and resulting jet-leg we all ended up falling asleep soon after walking around a bit only to wake up starving later that night. As we walked around searching for somewhere to eat we came across the beautiful lights displayed in the picture above. The Christmas-like feel of the trees made us all feel relaxed and joyful. After Finding a McDonald’s and experiencing the interesting self-order machines in the restaurant, I decided I needed to snap a picture of the beautiful trees we had just seen.

The next day was probably my favorite so far. After realizing our only class of the day was cancelled we all went to grab lunch at a very beautiful coffee shop where one of the Hosting team members works. Later on we all went on a bus tour and finally had the opportunity of hearing the history of Glasgow and experiencing the beautiful architecture of this amazing city. With much effort I was able to snap very nice shots of just a couple of all the amazing buildings and sights in Glasgow. Later on that night we headed to Chippy’s where some of the Ambassadors tried Haggis. To my surprise they all Loved it; I however, have not gathered the courage to do so myself but I plan on trying it before I leave back to Boston!

Today, Tuesday March 8th, we attended our first lab session here and really enjoyed it. Later after that we attended two tutorials (discussions) and some of us went shopping before going out to dinner. Due to the Lecturers requests we were not able to take pictures of the tutorials or lab sessions, and it was too rainy to do so outside. Tomorrow I plan to taking even more pictures and continuing to share with all of you how amazing this experience has gone so far!
