First Night in Scotland :)

Upon our arrival to the airport in Scotland, we were greeted by the Glasgow Caledonian University students’ smiling and excited expressions. They had prepared gift bags of sugar for each of us as a welcoming present and escorted us to our hotel. After dropping off our luggage, we departed with the GCU students to Nandos, a restaurant in Scotland, for lunch. I daringly ordered a veggie burger with “Hot” level of spice, and upon indulgence discovered my low tolerance for Scotland spices. Belonging to a South Asian culture, my tolerance for spicy food is above average, but I found that Scotland spices belong to a category of their own. A category that I may not be able to handle. I did however manage to finish my plate which was originally escorted with a large serving of fries. The burger itself was made of a mushroom patty, tomatoes, and lettuce; it was very tasteful despite the high content of spice.

Having Finished lunch, we were again escorted to our hotel by the GCU students, where we said our goodbyes for the night.  The Boston ambassadors then retired to their rooms. On the way from the restaurant we stopped at a shop and exchanged our American dollars for European Pounds. At the hotel we primarily unpacked and rested, while some did homework. We all tried our best not to fall asleep, so as to get accustomed to the Scotland time schedule. After a few hours had passed we went out for dinner as a group. Scared of losing our way, we tried our best not to go too far from the hotel. Upon directions from the hotel service desk receptionist, and some police officers we met on the way, we managed to make our way to a McDonald near by. We ordered our food in a unique fashion, as the Scotland McDonald had large digital screens set up on pillars that would take the order and payment. There we indulged in our meals, and made way to return home.  The sun had begun to set and the lights of the street caught our attention. We all paused to capture them in our mobile devices. We Finally headed home, and eventually fell asleep to keep up with the early schedule plans for the next day.
