GCU-UMass Boston Exchange Blog

A Strong Start

With the traveling portion of the exchange at an end, the academic support and communication team’s job is done. At times it was a challenge finding material for the ambassadors to keep them up to date with their studies, and at times I was worried that we as a team may have been ineffective. Those fears were assuaged upon reuniting the ambassadors, as they all seemed very appreciative of all the work we at home had done to keep them from falling behind.

Now we look to the future. With one job through, a new project is set to begin. Stem cells are an exciting, and somewhat controversial, subject, and I personally am looking forward to getting to know the nuances that make stem cell research such an important area of modern science.

I am particularly enthused about having the opportunity to share what we as a community learn with a greater audience than we are used to, as well as presenting our findings in media other than what we’ve grown accustomed to. The poster assignment seems like a great chance to show the whole school just how highly students can achieve when they have the resources of a large community to draw from.
