Upcoming Museum Exhibit and Talks!

Over the past two years, students and staff at the Fiske Center have been cataloging and researching a fascinating collection excavated in the 1960s from the site of the Hancock-Clarke House in Lexington.

With the Lexington Historical Society, we’ve developed an exhibit of some of this material called "The Reverend Hancock’s Household: Life In Early Colonial Lexington."  The exhibit will be open on three Sundays in October, the 17th, 24th, and 31st, from 3 to 5 with gallery talks at 4 on each of those days.  The exhibit will be at the Buckman Tavern, one of the LHS properties.  I hope you can come and see the it; the exhibit represents the Hancock household in the 1730s, so there are artifacts from that decade and earlier.  If you can’t make it this fall, the exhibit will still be on view in the spring when the house re-opens for tours.
