Make sure all phones, laptops, and electronic devices (including smart watches) are off and out of reach. You may keep your backpack at your desk, but your desk should be clear of all items beyond a writing utensil, your answer sheet, and your exam.
Please bring your numbered handwritten notes to the instructor fanned out for easy counting. Please put your first and last name at the top of the first page of your notes.

Once the notes are signed, take them, an answer sheet, and your exam to a seat. Please read the instructions at the top of the exam. The “section” portion on the answer sheet should be filled out with your class meeting time (e.g., “4:00pm”). Don’t forget to bubble in the version letter on your answer sheet. The version letter is emphasized on the top of your exam.
DO NOT WRITE ON THE EXAM. Only mark on the answer sheet. Do not remove the exam from its protective sleeve.
Talking is prohibited during the exam. Questions for the instructor are allowed and encouraged.
When you are finished, KEEP YOUR NOTES, and turn in the exam and answer sheet (face up) in accordance with the letter labels. Have a lovely break, and see you on Day 15!
Students who arrive on time to the midterm may use the entire class period to complete it. Students who arrive more than 5 minutes late to the exam may only take it at the professor’s discretion. Students who arrive more than 20 minutes late to the exam may not take it. If granted test taking time, late arrivers will only have as much time for the exam as the on-time students take – when the last on-time student leaves, the exam period ends and all students must turn in their tests.
