By this time of the semester, you will probably have different materials to study from. Quizzes, exams, readings, tests, papers, homeworks, and notes are all great sources of information to help you study for the semester. The key is studying successfully is knowing what information is important.
- Make sure you have all of the materials you have used in the class. Staying organized will help you be successful when it comes to studying for finals.
- Notes, in class and out of class, are important to review on a daily basis. Topics that you wrote about in your reading that are NOT discussed in class may NOT be on the exam. Topics that you DID discuss in class MAY be on the test. It is important to clarify with your professor if certain things will not be on the exam.
- A lot of professors reuse multiple choice questions from quizzes and previous exams, so use these are studying materials for finals.
- You may find that a question on your exam is similar to a homework question. Double checking the questions you went over in class is important. Questions that your professor spent time going over in class will most likely be the exam.
- Do not stress! If you plan ahead and study for tests long before they come up, you will start to understand the material better and get a better sense of the topic.
