Find Out About these Programs at Brown University
Hawasatu Dumbuya, PhD Candidate in the Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology program, will represent Brown programs at the UMass Boston Grad Fair. Please visit the Brown table to meet Ms. Dumbuya and get information on MPP, MCB and other BioMed graduate programs.
Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology
The Graduate Program in Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology (MPP) is a very diverse and unique program in many respects. We have a diverse set of trainers, with faculty appointments in many different basic science and clinical departments, including our home department, MPPB (Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology & Biotechnology), Chemistry, Neuroscience, MCB, Medicine, Surgery, Engineering, Psychiatry & Human Behavior, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, and Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. The research interests of trainers in the program are also diverse, ranging from basic science (e.g., structural biology, signal transduction, physiological responses) to more applied research, including methods of drug testing and delivery. Research labs include those on the main campus, as well as near the medical school and at several hospitals. Finally, our students come from very diverse backgrounds, and we have an exceptionally collegial, collaborative program with flexibility and lots of individual attention. Our course requirements are minimal and flexible, so that students may focus on their doctoral research and their individual career goals.
