On September 21, 2018, the Boston Police Strike Project held its first meet-up for project volunteers, team members, and those interested in joining the project. The team shared project updates and research guidance for volunteers, and we heard from volunteers about their successes and challenges with the project.

Our next meet-up is scheduled for Friday, November 30, 2018, at UMass Boston to review the progress of the 1919 Boston Police Strike Project. We invite you to bring tales of your most vexing and interesting inquiries. We’ll share research tips and tricks, field each others’ questions, and take a look at the upcoming stages of the project (reviewing, data entry, biographical profiles, and 2019 culminating event planning). We will gather at 10:00 a.m. in the Archives Research Room on the 5th floor of the Healey Library on the UMass Boston campus.

Please note that we will be meeting in the same location as the September session.

All current volunteers are welcome, including those in the process of taking the online training course. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Directions to campus are available here, and a campus map is available here.

Please save the date for our next scheduled meet-up on Friday, January 25, 2019.

We look forward to seeing you!
