It’s less than three months until our commemorative event in September and we are making great progress on our program plans. Join us for our next meet-up on Friday, June 28, 2019, at UMass Boston to learn about our latest developments.
We will kick off our meeting with a ‘sneak preview’ of our digital progress — that is, our timeline, story map, and project database. We will share our progress with the auto-generated striker bios and our thoughts on next steps for our volunteers to help edit and finalize these stories. We will continue our discussion of how to create video/audio recordings and share some easy instructions/guidelines. We will discuss the idea of setting up a ‘show and tell’ table at the event and suggestions for volunteers to help coordinate this table.
We will also update you on progress regarding the upcoming stages of the project (reviewing/closing, data entry, biographical profiles, and planning for the September event), and will answer your questions and general research needs.
At the end of the session, we invite you to join us in walking over to the Tawa Music Classroom in University Hall for the first rehearsal of the choral group that will be singing a song as part of the event. We would love to have you lend your voice, or just pop in to hear what the grand finale will sound like!
Please note that we will be meeting in the CALLI room location: Healey Library, 4th floor.
All current volunteers are welcome, including those in the process of taking the online training course. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
