SPRING 2020 REMOTE ADVISING SERVICES

Please bookmark this page as we will post updates information about the Undergraduate Program Office Advising Services and Resources for students here.

Please note that the Undergraduate Program Office is open, but only for remote services.  The office is not staffed for face to face interactions.

ACADEMIC ADVISING:
All CM Advisors in the Undergraduate Program Office are working remotely.  You can still schedule appointments to meet with them either via Zoom or over the Phone.  Please visit our Advising Appointment Page for the link to schedule with your assigned advisor.

We will no longer be offering “drop-in” advising for the remainder of the SP2020 semester.  All CM Advisors are available for 15-minute PHONE or 30-minute ZOOM appointments. Please visit our Drop-In Advising page for information on how to connect with an advisor during the SP2020 semester.

If you’re looking for help in connecting with an advisor, you can also fill out this form and an advisor will connect back with you based on the information you share.  Please be mindful in filling this request out if you’ve already scheduled an appointment with an advisor.  If you have already scheduled an appointment with an advisor and then fill out the remote advising request, please cancel your advising appointment as that time can become available to another student.  Remote Advising Assistance Request Form

Curious about the holds on your account and not sure how to get them removed?  Please check out this document of common student holds and the detailed information on how to clear them.  SPRING 2020 COMMON WISER HOLDS

MAP (Management Achievement Program)

We know many of you are also concerned about fulfilling your MAP requirement.  We have worked very hard to put as many MAP opportunities online as possible this semester.  Please visit UMBInvolved and the MAP organization to see the upcoming online MAP opportunities.  You will find Zoom links and instructions on the event pages so you can connect at the time of the workshop.  You can also follow MAP on Instagram @umap_boston to stay updated on upcoming MAP opportunities.  Thank you for your patience as we work with our presenters to get them set up with the appropriate technology to offer the opportunities to you.

CM FORMS:

Most forms in the College of Management can be found on our Academic Resources page on the CM Website.  If you have a paper form that you need to submit to the College, please email the completed form to upo@umb.edu and our office will review it electronically and email it back to you when completed.

CMWA (College of Management Writing Assessment):

For the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester and until we are back on campus the CMWA is being offered online.  Students must still sign up in advance via the CMWA Blackboard Course and read through the information about the technology needed to complete this assessment remotely.  Please keep in mind that the CMWA is required to earn a placement and enroll into a BC (Business Communications) course, also the CMWA is a proctored assessment and so while normally this is completed in the Testing Center, completion of the CMWA remotely does still require remote proctoring.  If you are concerned about the remote proctoring after reading through the information, you can plan to take the CMWA on campus when on campus services are open again this summer. For detailed information about the SPRING 2020 CMWA format, please visit our College of Management Writing Assessment Page on the Blog.
