$5,000 Accounting Scholarship from the Boston NAACP

The Boston Branch of the NAACP acknowledges the high cost associated with higher education and is committed to providing financial assistance to African Americans and minority groups who
demonstrate academic promise. In 2009, the Lucille P. Butler scholarship was established in commemoration of Ms. Butler, who was a lifelong and prolific member of the organization. The committee awards two $5,000 scholarships to students majoring in Accounting. These students exhibit strong leadership skills and are actively involved in their school or community.

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be full time students working on their first bachelor’s degree or graduate degree with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher and are in good academic standing. Applicants must have completed a total of 24 credits.

Additional Requirements

  • US citizen and resident of Greater Boston
  • Matriculation at a 4 year accredited institution
  • Declared Accounting Major
  • Complete FAFSA
  • GPA 2.50 or higher
  • Minimum 24 credits towards graduation
