Overview:

We are excited to announce an opening in our Business Department for an Entry Level Staff Accountant, based out of the Regional office in West Bridgewater, MA.  Our Business Department has a great reputation for providing fast track promotions up to the Accounting Supervisor, Business Manager and Controller positions both within New England and around the country.

The responsibilities include:  preparing financial statements, providing external and internal communication to rental locations, vendors and various departments, managing accounts receivable general ledger accounts, analyzing accounts, resolving issues and variances, and calculating/preparing end of month entries.

This position offers solid professional and financial growth opportunities and is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to achieve continued growth and success in a business management capacity. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills and exceptional attention to detail.  Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  Previous accounting experience is preferred but not required.  Flexibility to relocate for future career opportunities within 1 – 3 years is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Starting as a Staff Accountant, you will be exposed to basic accounting procedures and principles ranging from accounts payable and receivable systems to financial statement, preparation, and analysis.

Apply now for the Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship

The Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship will fund a proposal designed by the applicant to conduct brief work in a foreign country related to the mandate of UNESCO – using education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and/or communication and information to build strong ties among nations.

The fellowship is intended for American college/university students who express an interest in international collaboration but as of yet had not been afforded many opportunities to travel abroad.

The deadline for applications is September 22, 2014.

Eligibility
In order to apply for the Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship, applicants:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for foreign travel
  • Must be at least 18 years old and not older than 25 at the time of application
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university in the United States

Selection
Only complete applications received by the application deadline will be considered. A subcommittee of the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO, which shall include a personal representative of Mrs. Laura W. Bush, will conduct an initial review of the applications, conduct phone interviews as needed, and provide recommendations to the entire Commission about which candidates are the most qualified to receive the Fellowship. The number of recipients and exact amount of money awarded will depend on the quality of applications and the funds available. The average fellowship award amount is $2,500.

  • Quality of essay
  • Apparent dedication to bridging nations, enlarging freedoms, and promoting democracy through one or more of UNESCO’s fields of competence
  • Performance during interview, if applicable

Reporting to the Controller, the Finance/Accounting Intern will be responsible for functions in the area
of Accounting and Finance for Athletes’ Performance, Inc. (d.b.a EXOS) (and all of its subsidiaries)at the
Norwell, MA office. The student filling this position will handle a wide range of important duties and will
be expected to work diligently and independently. This is a part-time position (1 – 2 days a week).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Assist with month-end financial reports
– Organizing raw data into functional reports
– Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation
– Balance sheet reconciliation
– Data entry
– General office responsibilities
– Completing miscellaneous special projects as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
– General knowledge of GAAP
– Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
– Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
– Detail oriented, organized and able to meet deadlines.
– Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
– Demonstrates quantitative and analytical ability
– Familiarity with Great Plains software would be a plus.

EDUCATION:
– Currently majoring in Accounting/Finance or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
