We will be canceling morning walk-in advising for tomorrow (Friday,  February 28th).  Walk-ins will still be available Friday afternoon during their usual times, from 2pm-3:30pm.   All other dates/times remain unaffected.

Then check out our Meet the Concentrations events!  We will be hosting an opportunity for you to meet faculty members, staff, and other students interested in all the concentrations that the College offers; as well as hear about the required classes, what you can do with a concentration after you graduate, and the earning potential that each concentration can expect!

Notes: These events are designed for students who have not chosen a concentration, or are considering adding a concentration.  These events are MAP eligible, however, students can only earn credit for as many as 2.  Light refreshments will be served.  Check out the MAP Portal for more information on each event.  RSVP is expected.

The 2014 State Street Scholars Program – deadline to apply February 21st

The 2014 State Street Scholars Program

An excellent opportunity to learn about the financial services industry and to experience the corporate environment first hand.

The State Street Scholars Program runs from late August  2014 to the end of the school year in May 2015.  Interns will have opportunities to learn about various State Street jobs and career paths that align with their field of study and majors.  Through on-the-job experience, interns develop their business, financial and analytical skills.

Students in the State Street Scholars Program receive competitive compensation in the form of hourly pay and a stipend for partial tuition.

To be considered for admission to the 2014 State Street Scholars Program, complete the following steps by no later than 4:00pm on February 21, 2014:

What Is Beta Gamma Sigma?

Beta Gamma Sigma is an International Honors Society for students at AACSB accredited business schools. UMass Boston’s College of Management is proud to have a Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma and invite eligible students to become lifetime members each year.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • top 10% of undergraduate juniors (75-89 credits) who have a minimum of 30 credits earned at UMass Boston as a Management major
  • top 10% of undergraduate seniors (90+ credits) who have a minimum of 30 credits earned at UMass Boston as a Management major
  • top 20% of graduate students with more than 50% of the program (MBA, MSA, MSF, MSIT, or MSIM) completed
  • all doctoral students who have completed the academic coursework of the PhD program

Beta Gamma Sigma Presents Workshop Series at UMass Boston’s College of Management

In addition to inviting the Best in Business to join this honors society, Beta Gamma Sigma presents a workshop series helping to promote academic success for all students in the College of Management. If you are interested in improving and honing some of your academic habits and skills to be the best student you can be, check out this workshop series. All the BGS Presents Workshops are a part of the Management Achievement Program and are each worth 50 MAP Miles.
