Not only does UMass Boston have a 96% green rating (thank you, Princeton Review) but we also have our own secret garden right in the heart of campus. If you haven’t checked out the Biology Department’s greenhouse yet, you certainly should: It is a little piece of serenity in the middle of our lively campus. It houses many different species of plants. Not only is it a great place to learn about plant diversity and get hands-on experience outside of the classroom, but it’s a beautiful place to spend some time on a break or just to clear your head.

So as the weather begins to cool off, which it eventually will, you can get your dose of spring, summer, and the tropics by stopping by the greenhouse.

You’re welcome!

Thanks for the plug Michelle! The greenhouse is a great place to work and visit! Can I ad a picture to the blog? I don’t think so.

photo 2Transfer Articulation Officer. What does that mean? It means that if it has something to do with transfer admissions at UMass Boston, I have my hand in it; from recruitment to Transfer Credit Evaluations to transfer credit petitions and much more! So, there’s some information about what I do, here’s a little bit more about who I am:

  • I received my Bachelor of Arts in Classics from UMass Amherst in 2004
  • I recently received my Masters of Education in April 2011 from Northeastern University
  • I am a strong advocate for education, specifically public education which is why I love working at UMass Boston.

My favorite part of my job is working with and helping students. I am excited for this opportunity to reach out to more of you. Stay tuned!
