The Berkman center is community of people, most of who are scalars and students, and activists who have a passion for the future of the internet. These people meet and share information with each other about the internet. These people push each other and brainstorm and studying what is going on on the internet. People came with ideas of their own and share there work to audiences on how they use the internet. Many of these people are entrepreneurs, lawyers, and students. I believe the Berkman center is an extremely innovative idea considering that our society thrives on information coming from the internet. As technology becomes more and more advanced, the Berkman center discusses topics about these advanced technologies. The way technology is evolving it is hard to do things the old fashion way as they say it and by these students, lawyers, and cyber scholars come together and talk about these types of things it is a good  for people who dont know much about the area and are able to sit in and listen to them speak. This is a great way to learn more about the internet because you are not able to find many people of this caliber to listen and learn about these topics. Also what you can and cannot do with these technologies. I also find it essential for children of the future to learn how the internet works, how to understand how technology works.

The berkman center investigates cyberspace and the open and closed systems of code. And as part of their research mission, the berkman center build, use, and share information and software freely to their peers and people interested in the cyber world. This allows others who are not well educated on topics such as these they can learn, and also by sharing information the berkman center is capable of expanding software that is created.

While cyberspace is expanding and becoming larger and larger everyday it is important that the berkman center continue to investigate the cyber world. I for one can sometimes get overwhelmed with the information and limitations of the cyber world. As i had said before its also important to teach children the ins and outs of the cyber world and the limitations on the internet. The berkman center led a review of child safety online called the Internet Safety Technical Task Force. this task force was put together to help protect children from online predators, with one of the major focuses on age verification, and are hoping age verification will put a larger dent in the protection of children online.  This is a very smart and innovative way of keeping children safe and if the berkman center can pull such a thing off i believe  it will do wonders for the internet and keeping the children safe from online predators. This would also help parents with guidelines for their children and would take a large part of responsibility off  a parents back, and will also allow teenagers to have a bit more privacy while on the computer without parents breathing down their back.
