1. Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1

Pro: Lighter than the previous version, the Motorola Xoom, the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 boasts the fastest Verizon 4G LTE on the planet. At 1.2 lbs, 9.9 x 6.8 x 0.3, it one of the lightest tablets on the market. The Xyboard has a 10.1 inch screen @ 1280×800 Resolution. Excellent audio comes from the twin speakers in the rear of the device. It can also be used as a universal remote, via the Dijit app. The Dijit app provides episode summaries, cast details, and upcoming episodes. An additional feature is to use it as a tether via a USB port, or a WiFi hotspot. Instead of the standard Intel Atom processor, the Xyboard uses a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4430 CPU with 1 GB RAM.

Con:  Although it comes with a stylus pen, the feature seems like an afterthought, including having very few apps. The recharge time from 15-90% can take 5 hours. There are also times when performance lags. Finally, at $629 (with a two-year WiFi contract), it is an expensive tablet.

2. Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201

Pro: This is the best Android tablet on the market. It boasts an nVidia Quad Core Tegra 3 CPU for fast performance in both graphics and standard applications. It sits at 1.3 lbs, 10.4 x 7.1 x 0.3, making it the slimmest tablet on the market. It’s resolution, thanks to the Super IPS, is 1280 x 800. The $150 keyboard docking bay is the best around. Customize able power settings give the user control to prioritize CPU performance or battery life. This was the fastest tablet tested. Its price is an average $499.

Con: It’s only weakness are a weak audio system, due to only one speaker, and due to the Super IPS, the screen is virtually unreadable in the sunlight.
