TAG: Founders Day
On Monday, July 14, the Talented and Gifted (TAG) Latino Program commemorated their founder, Lucia Meyerson-David, for her work and dedication to their program prior to her untimely death in 2011. Lucia is credited for creating both TAG and Project ALERTA, which provide academic and social support during the summer and school year to Latino students and English Language Learners. Jennie and I joined the students and staff as they shared stories and watched videos about Lucia, all while mourning their tragic loss. One of the staff members, who was a friend of Lucia, said “Lucia is the reason [TAG] is here today.”
