The Welcome Station is visitors’ introduction to the event. Your primary responsibility is to guide visitors through the registration process, but this is more than a technical role. It is also essential to make visitors feel welcomed and supported.
At the Information Station your primary responsibility is to guide contributors through the photo documentation process, which will be the focus of this module and the next.

At the Scanning Station, contributor photos are scanned to become part of the online collection. Your primary responsibility as a volunteer here is to facilitate the scanning process. You will need to fill one of two roles: Reviewer or Image Collector.
At the Keepsake Station, contributors may choose to have their photograph taken to document their participation in the event. Your responsibility as a volunteer is to help the contributor feel comfortable and to take their photograph.
At the Video Station, contributors are invited to speak about their contributions. Your primary responsibility as a volunteer at the Video Station is to facilitate the recording process by supporting the Videographer and helping contributors feel welcome.
At the Preservation Station, contributors are invited to ask a professional archivist how to care for and preserve their family photographs and documents. Your primary responsibility as a volunteer at the Preservation Station is to support the professional archivist in navigating these questions and educating visitors.
At the Local History Station, contributors are invited to consult with local history and thematic experts about the town or theme of the Mass. Memories Road Show event. Your core responsibility as a Local History Station Volunteer is to provide information on the community’s history and assist in identifying local photos.
