Discussion
Seeing the data that has been recorded on the chart located above, we can see some differences in income between the shown races. My finding targeted whites, blacks and Asian in the region of Provincetown, Brockton and overall scope of Massachusetts. To be completely honest, the results shown were expected. Now I must say there is no room for speculations any longer but recorded statistics. The level of poverty in the white category is higher in Provincetown then the national average for some odd reason. Then I furthered my research more and discovered that Provincetown had at 87.5 Population, which is higher than the US population, totaling at 75.10 percent. The Household median income being 32,894, meanwhile the Nations is 44.687, a difference of 11.793 between the town and the national average. Although the Provincetown findings were fairly interesting, the town lacked diversity. The Black and Asian population is virtually known existent.
In regards to Brockton, being the city which I grew up and currently reside. My findings were unforeseeable. Base on my personal observation, I thought the black population was higher than 36,641; however the Asian population ranged at 49,432, higher than the white population at 41,291. Nevertheless, I was more shocked by the fact the poverty level amongst the blacks were 18.3, same with the state and very close to the nation at 21.6 percent. However, the white Population remains low at 7.1 average, when the level of poverty for the Asian population is 13.9 nearly doubling the whites numbers.
To conclude, I must say this experiment was well deserved. Through conducting this experiment, I have discovered that the Asian population is quite close with the overall black population. Clearly shown in the chart located above, is the fact that Asian population is at 20.5 percent, when the blacks are 21.6 percent; a 1.1 difference in percentage. In my opinion, I would never think that the two races would be closely related in poverty. Asian’s given the stereotype of being overachievers and hard workers and blacks being the ultimate bad apples of society; having stereotypes of gang bangers, uneducated. However, both being part of the minorities in society. Looking at the results in such a way, my findings were not so far-fetched. Regardless of the statistical facts, I believe that all races are all the same in Gods eyes. Wishing more individuals were to do the same in their decision making patterns. Even you were blue, yellow or red. The overall pursuit of happiness remains quite similar. The humbling factor in our moral fiber is loss in our selfish ways of doing things.
