INFORMATION SESSION:

May 14 from 5pm-6pm
in the Dean’s Conference Room
(McCormack 5th floor)
RSVP to gradcm@umb.edu

Prof. Ed Romar will give an introduction and overview of this exciting online course that will have you working with student colleagues from two European countries in cross-cultural teams.

The Entering International Markets course will combine students from the University of Massachusetts Boston, The University of Kassel, Germany, and the University of Pannonia in Veszprem, Hungary in an experimental online marketing course. The course will combine both strategy and marketing concepts in a course with an international focus. Students will learn the relationship between strategy and marketing in business success.

This will be accomplished through the use of online video lectures as well as a semester long team project. Teams composed of students from all three universities and cultures will be created and be responsible to work together in the development of a marketing plan for a product to be marketed in the US, German or Hungarian markets. Collaboration will be facilitated through the use of real-time bisynchronous audio communications programs (Wimba). At the end of the semester students will have gained experience in managing across cultures and time zones as well as an understanding of the requirements to market successfully in different geographies.

Enrollment in the Entering International Markets course is by permission of the instructor, Dr. Edward Romar. Please make an appointment by emailing him at edward.romar@umb.edu and be sure to have you resume with you.
