Study Abroad: South America – Summer Session II
Buenos Aires, Argentina: Summer 2012
Application for Study Abroad Summer 2012: Buenos Aires, Argentina.
How to Apply
Completed applications should be returned no later than Friday, May 4th to Tara.Norton@umb.edu
Please Note: A minimum of 8 students are required to run the trip, and the South American Program cost can be reduced if we are able to have more than 8 students joins us (see below for breakdowns).
The trip will entail approximately 10-15 half day visits to various firms and companies within the Argentine economy for face to face meetings with CEO’s and senior management to learn about the economic and financial landscape of Buenos Aires.
A unique feature of this trip is the opportunity to customize the firms visited based on the interest of the overall group. For example, if a majority of students are interested in the financial industry, visits could be arranged to firms such as CitiGroup, HSBC or for the IT sector visits to IBM or SYSCO branches. A sample itinerary is included for review, but can be customized once we have a final count of students and their preferences.
Cultural visits and activities will include a City Tour of Buenos Aires, a Welcome Tango Dinner Show and Lessons, and the option for additional visits to points of interest.
Students will also be provided with advanced access to a web portal that will house information on the various companies chosen, including articles, profiles, and news stories, all of which are designed to enhance your experience while in Buenos Aires, but also as a resource for any case study or group work required for the course.
Additionally, the team will be assigned a trip manager to facilitate the meetings with firms, local travel logistics and general trip support. A representative from the College of Management will also be part of the group.
The trip is expected to run during summer session II,
