Graduate Student Assembly awards

The Graduate Student Assembly offers several competitive awards to assist students in defraying the costs of their research. The Dr. Robert W. Spayne grant <http://gsaumb.wordpress.com/programs-and-grants/dr-robert-w-spayne-research-grant/>  is $2,000 and supports Master’s theses. The Craig R. Bollinger grant <http://gsaumb.wordpress.com/programs-and-grants/craig-r-bollinger-memorial-research-grant/>  is a $2,000 grant that supports doctoral dissertations. The GSA also offers a $500 research grant for original research <http://gsaumb.wordpress.com/programs-and-grants/research-funding-proposal/>  that does not qualify for the Spayne or Bollinger awards.

We also offer grants for students to attend conferences <http://gsaumb.wordpress.com/programs-and-grants/professional-development-grant-pdg/> , workshops, and other events that further professional development. Students must apply for these grants at least 30 days prior to travel, so it is important faculty and staff alert students of these opportunities early.

Because all of our grants are competitive, we do not offer deadline extensions for any reason. Plan early so that you will make the deadlines!
