Census Assigment
As we know Latinos has become the largest minority group in the United States. We migrate to this country for a better living and the majority of us come with a dream ¨The American Dream¨ which is to work, make money and maybe later move back to our original country of birth.
Many time things dont come the way we want it to, we face many obstacules that makes it impossible to obtain the American Dream. In many ocaccion when we talk about working hard people refer to us as ¨working as Mexican¨ because as you know Mexican come to this country and works really hard. But poverty and obstacules are always there, since the majority of the latinos dont get the proper compensation for their work, white americans do not go and cut someone grass for $20 or $30 dollars, do not clean toilets as janitors, the majority of them have the privilege to get financial aid and go to school to get a deegre and work in an office with air conditioner while the poor latinos are killing ourselves for a better living. I believe that american wouldnt be as wealthy as it is if it wasnt for hundreds of year of free labor (Slavery). We as latinos will continue to work for a better living no matter what comes infront of us.
The table of context underneath shows how the white population in Housatonic massachussetts has better income than the latinos in Malden, unfortunately the information about the latinos in Housatonic was not available, maybe because there are no latinos in that city, but once again we can see how the latinos are getting less income in this country.
The information was collected from the the following source: Sencus 2000 Summary file 4 (SF4)
