Inside the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

Today started with a trip to the Museum of Anatomy, and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Accompanied by one of the GCU professors, we observed unique displays of human development. One particular art piece that caught our attention was the “Haggis (animal).” An artist created an image to represent the fictional beast. There is no such thing as an animal called Haggis, but newcomers are easily fooled by the image. The UMB and GCU students bonded over legends about the creature’s true whereabouts.  The highlight was around Glasgow University (where many of the Harry Potter Films were set). It was hard to resist the photo opt in Hogwarts so we all gladly caved in. The day spent visiting museums, and documenting the experience was one of the best so far.  Fun fact: Haggis is a pudding containing a variety of meat, oatmeal, spice, and suet all stuffed in a sheep’s stomach.

Fun Conversation:

Ambassador: Do you know about Justin Beiber?

Local: We’re Scottish, not Eskimo.

Ambassador: So, do you like him here?

Local: Yeah, if your under 5 and over 70!
