In January 2012, ScholarWorks at UMass Boston had 5,627 full-text downloads, with 123 new submissions to the site.
And what were the most popular papers of the month, you ask? Here you go:
- Jacey J. Vaughan and Nina M. Silverstein’s research report Leaving Home Care: Decision Making, Risk Scenarios & Services Gaps in the Home Care System (2011), published by the Gerontology Institute at UMass Boston, was download 228 times in January alone.
- The research report Improving Educational Outcomes of English Language Learners in Schools and Programs in Boston Public Schools (2011) — a collaborative effort between the Gaston Institute, the Center for Collaborative Education, and the Boston Public Schools — was downloaded 135 times.
- And finally, a 2004 interview from the Trotter Review conducted by Castellano Turner with Dianne Wilkerson, a Massachusetts State Senator who, in 2011, was found guilty of public corruption charges including bribery, was download 99 times. This interview, about Wilkerson’s perspective as a policy-maker on same-sex marriage issues and the Black community, has been one of the most regularly downloaded papers since being posted to ScholarWorks in 2010.
ScholarWorks is the University of Massachusetts Boston’s online institutional repository for scholarship and research. The repository now holds 1,147 records, which have been downloaded a total of 37,646 times.
