Meanwhile, in my Short Novel course we are reading the most interesting, and not so popular, or labeled a "classic", novels. We read the Great Gatsby, which is generally considered a "classic", but the other novels are not so known. Although the novels might not be so popular, we are reading novels that were written by distinguished writers like Toni Morrison and Chinua Achebe.

We are reading the most depressing plays in my Stage and PLay course. I hope we’ll start reading about plays that aren’t written by men, where female characters do not have horrific endings, and plays that are more cheerful. We read Hedda Gabler, Miss Julie, and A Streetcar Named Desire, all good plays, but gloomy.

UMass has the most delicious croissants I have ever tasted. Starbucks have really good croissants also, but the day before yesterday I bought one and it wasn’t fully cooked inside. It had a huge clump that wasn’t fluffy and airy at all. I apologize Starbucks, you became third in my opinion after that (BJ’s is second and the least expensive of the three, but who’s going to drive up there everyday?).

Hello,
I just love the fall; the weather is not too hot and not too cold. Best time of the year.
